Tag 10: Unterwegs im Iron Range

Im Iron Range befindet sich unter anderem die Hill Rust Mahoning Mine, der größte Eisenerztagebau der Welt. Ein unvorstellbar großes Loch in der Erde, allerdings nur bedingt als schön zu bezeichnen - deshalb kein Photo, sondern ein Gemälde aus dem Minnesota Museum of Mining in Chisholm.

    My grandfather was an engineer for the trains in to the mines, so the mine might be of more interest to me.

    Actually I wanted to visit the Soudan Underground Mine, but it opened only at 10am. I didn't wanted to wait when I was there in the early morning... What a pity!
