As a young boy I also liked to watch them on TV. Instead of "Laurel and Hardy", their movies were labeled as "Dick und Doof" (Fat and Foolish) here, it is a quite silly translation...
When I was a child they ran Laurel and Hardy movies during the afternoon on weekends. In the winter I would often watch them.
