Unterhaltungen in Minnesota sind einfach: Auf eine Aussage oder eine Frage folgt eine Antwort. Inhaltlich geht es meist ums Wetter ("it could be worse"), ums Auto (wieso eigentlich?), ums Essen (Hotdishes!) und ums Angeln (kein Wunder bei den vielen Seen).
Ein typischer Dialog könnte etwa so aussehen:
- "What d'ya think of this weather?"
- "Boy, it's something."
- "I've never seen anything like it."
- "You got that right."

AntwortenLöschenIt is also because you find more communities of Scandinavian origins. It seems to me that the southern part of the state is a bit more German.

AntwortenLöschenI haven't been to New Ulm in years, but it is noted for being very "German". There is a German restaurant there that I have been wanting to go to.
