True Grit

  1. I have yet to see this. We keep saying we are going, but we never go!

  2. Yes, it has been a quite interesting movie, though a bit strange. But maybe this is the reason why the Coen Brothers are on rank #3 of my most viewed directors (according to my movie diary)...

  3. The Coen Brothers are a bit strange. But I think most Westerns have an oddness about them. Have you see the original with John Wayne? I don't think I have seen that either, but John Wayne movies used to be played on Saturday afternoons so I may have.

  4. No, I haven't seen the original, probably because Westerns are not my favorite film genre - the most noticeable exception is Sergio Leone's "Once upon Time in the West". Generally there are just too many shootings and too much brutality. For this reason, I also dislike action movies like "Rambo"...

  5. I love the music to "Once Upon A Time in the West". Though it is another of those movies I am not sure that I have seen. Sadly violence has only gotten worse in movies and on TV. I hate how TV shows exploit high-definition picture with very graphic scenes.

I have never seen Rambo either...
