I am a bit confused by the first paragraph.
AntwortenLöschenYou're right, Google's translation is very weird...
AntwortenLöschenWell, the story is as follows: For a long time I have published here only received Postcrossing postcards, but not those which I sent. This one was an exception, mainly because of its exceptional square shape: According to German Post regulations this is not a permissible postcard because the length-width ratio must be at least 1.4:1. Actually it can be sent only inside a letter! But I was a bit defiant, I paid only the regular 75 cents (instead of 345 cents for an appropriate letter) - and despite everything the postcard reached its destination Belarus! I was relieved...
Yay! I am glad that it worked! As a side note: to send an international letter is the same price here as sending a postcard.
AntwortenLöschenIt's the same here, there's no difference between international postcards and letters. And the letters also have to fulfill the length-width ratio condition... Hence the upgrade to a 3.45€ letter for square postcards is mandatory!
