Säulenbrunnen im Kurpark Nümbrecht

Die Skulpturen des Säulenbrunnens im Kurpark Nümbrecht wurden in den 1970er Jahren geschaffen und waren, wie könnte es bei moderner Kunst auch anders sein, am Anfang recht umstritten.

  1. The ending of the sentence should be translated as "... quite controversial at the beginning". Though, it was especially controversial due to the picture "... at the top right".

  3. Thank you for the interesting link! I guess some teenagers here are fist bumping, too, but it is quite uncommon.

    The columns are representing some aspects of human life: Beauty and fertility (the woman), creative work (the hand), but also violence and self-assertion (the fists). At least this is the official interpretation...

  4. I would guess that teenagers would see the gesture in American movies and such. It is everywhere here. Though I don't think I have ever done it!
